Henry R. Schmitz, 79, of Jericho, a retired farmer, died early Sunday morning at his home of a heart attack.
He was born in the Town of Taycheedah, in Fond du Lac County, on April 3, 1889, a son of the late Joseph and Theresa (Seyen) Schmitz. On Oct. 26, 1911, he married Josephine Ott at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Jericho. She preceded him in death on July 25, 1967.
He farmed in the town of Brothertown until his retirement in 1945, when he moved to Jericho. He was a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church and the Holy Name Society of the church.
Survivors are three sons, Harold and John, R. 3, Chilton, and Leo of Cudahy; one daughter, Mrs. Herman (Lovina) Laudolff, Fond du Lac; one brother, Leo, Fond du Lac; one sister, Mrs. Edward Gerhartz, also of Fond du Lac; 14 grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren. One sister preceded him in death.
