Pauline McCrary was born in Pickens Co., Georgia to Jesse McCrary and Hattie McDaniel McCrary. She moved with her family about 1910 to Comanche County, Oklahoma. They stayed there until about 1914 when her dad homesteaded on land in Quay County, New Mexico. While living there she met John Willis from Tucumcari. They married in June 1933 and made their home in Tucumcari. They had one son Carrol Dean who was born in 1935. They still lived in Tucumcari when she passed away in the hospital in Amarillo, Texas.
