William Wallace Clark was born on 7 December 1852 in Hopkins County, Texas. He was the fifth child of Thomas Carr and Elizabeth Barilla Hargrave Clark. William Wallace Clark's parents both died in 1864 when he would have been about twelve years of age.
Family stories told how William Wallace Clark never married. He was living with his younger sister, Clara, and her family on 1900 Arkansas census and working as a teamster. Apparerently he suffered a stoke sometime after that date. Family stories told of him visiting in Texas later. He was told to have had little use of one arm and told to have walked with a bad limp.
William Wallace Clark died on 2 August 1923 in Callahan County, Texas. He was buried in the Ross Cemetery, but he has no headstone.
