2002 Obituary Panguitch, Utah
Aunt Gai passed away January 17, 2002, at South Valley Care Center. Being born Oct. 24, 1904, in Panguitch, Utah, she was 97 years old.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Matilda Humphries and James Leland Clark; her husband,
Channing Moore Jordan; her three sisters, Jean, Grace and RGene; and her two brothers, Leland and Guy. She is survived by one sister, Mary Alvey, and one sister-in-law, Cleo Clark; many nieces and nephews; and many friends.
She graduated from the Branch Agricultural College in Cedar City, Utah, and spent many years in Omaha, Nebraska, then retired with her husband to Sun City, Arizona. She was an active member of the LDS Church all her life, having served in many capacities.
After her husband's death she moved to West Valley City where she had a special close relationship with Clyde and Verla Nielsen, who provided care for her during her elderly years.
Aunt Gai lived the last few years of her life in Heather Ridge (Knight) home, and she had many close friendships there, both in the residents and the caretakers, all of whom were like family to her.
She also had a close companionship with her "Family Home Evening" family. These friends met every Monday evening, attended the temple regularly, and spent time together at dinners, parties, and many other activities. She was a member of the Valley West DUP Camp, where she gave the lessons for many years. It can definitely be said that she loved people and enjoyed life.
