Obituary of Winona I. Butler
Mrs. Winona I. "Nonie" Butler, 66, of East Freedom, died Monday, May 31, 1999, at Bon Secours-Holy Family Hospital, Altoona.
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. today, June 3, at Foot of Ten Bible Church, Duncansville, by Rev. David Miklas.
Burial will be in Alto-Reste Park, Altoona.
Mrs. Butler was born July 18, 1932, in Martinsburg, a daughter of Lester Leroy and Lorena Irene (Smith) Brumbaugh. She married Albert Irvin Butler on Dec. 18, 1948, in Martinsburg. He died Oct. 24, 1991.
She is survived by five daughters, Mary E. Lewis and Winona I. Henry, both of East Freedom, Evelyn M. Feather of Altoona and Pauline L. Amick and Helen M. McCoy, both of Roaring Spring; three sons, John I. of Altoona and Larry G. and Randy W., both of East Freedom; five sisters, Eva Kauffman and Doris Butler, both of Martinsburg, Myrtle Bair of Goshen, N. Y., Patricia Collare of York and Norma James of Long Beach, Calif.; a brother John of Kissimmee, Fla.; two half brothers, Byron Brumbaugh of Altoona and Scott Brumbaugh of Beaverdale; three half sisters, Darlene Mills, Sandra McCaulley and Wanda Zaire, all of Altoona; 18 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and her step-mother Mary Claar of Beaverdale.
She was preceded in death by a son Edward J. on Feb. 26, 1989, and by a brother Leroy Brumbaugh in 1992 and a half brother, Lester Brumbaugh.
Mrs. Butler retired from Tritex Sportswear Inc. of Altoona. She also worked at Cove Shoe Co. and Price's Poultry.
She was a member of the Foot of Ten Bible Church.
