--Benjamin Beaty, farmer and stock raiser, section 17, is the son of Joseph R. Beaty a Kentuckian by birth, who was born March 23 1803. He married Mary Prigmore, also a native of Kentucky. They came to Henry County, Missouri, in 1836. Benjamin was born April 26, 1839. He passed his younger days in the county of his birth, receiving a common school education. January 26, 1861, he enlisted in Company E, First Missouri Cavalry, and at the battle of Oak Hill received a wound in the foot. He remained in service until the close of the war, when he returned to this county, he owns 304 acres of good land and well improved, upon which is a barn built in 1881, at a cost of $400. Mr Beaty is a member of the Masonic fraternity. He was married to Miss Louisa Kimsey, a native of Henry County, March 26, 1868. She was born January 16, 1841, They have six children Samuel, Joseph, Mary S.,Jackson, Abner and Frances A.

Note: Benjamin and son Abner died the same day/place -- Aug 12 1908, Wilburton OK., from pernicious malaria contracted from drinking water collected in cistern outdoors. Runoff from roof was thought to be the cause of contaminants in water.
Benjamin's wife died 1898 in Henry Co MO and is buried in Henry Co, as are his parents. Benjamin and Abner may be buried there.
Burial location is unknown, placed in cemetery with his wife as probable location and to request photo.
