Florence I Sherlock, 94, a resident of Conner's Personal Care Home in Spartansburg, died Tuesday, Jan 23, 1996, in Titusville Area Hospital. Mrs Sherlock was born Feb 16, 1901, in Sparta Township, Crawford County, a daughter of the late Thomas and Elizabeth Nichols Watson. She was raised and educated in Spartansburg, where she graduated from Spartansburg High School. She worked for The Spartansburg Sentinel as a typesetter. She was also employed at Aero Supply Co during World War II, and for many years she wrote articles for The Titusville Herald and The Corry Journal. Mrs Sherlock was a member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in Spartansburg. She was also a charter member of the Spartansburg area senior citizens' group and the Friendly Neighbors Club. She was an avid domino player. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Isaac S Sherlock on Dec 28, 1981. They were married June 1, 1922, in Titusville. She was also preceded by two sons, Isaac S Sherlock, Jr and Robert Sherlock, both in infancy, and by five sisters and five brothers. Survivors include a daughter, with whom she made her home from 1982 until 1993; two grandsons; two great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Bracken Funeral Home in Spartansburg...Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Spartansburg.
