Daughter of Joseph and Marion Plowman Boyd, she married Donald C. Bickel, lived at 445 Seneca St, Oil City, died there of diabetes with Kimmelstiel-Wilson syndrome, per death certificate 76366, whose informant was her husband. Buried Aug 28 1957.

Franklin News-Herald, Saturday, Nov 8 1952:
Miss Nancy Joan Boyd, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Boyd, and Donald Carl Bickel, son of Carl H. and Mildred Bickel, all of Dempseytown, married at 7:30 pm Friday evening in Dempseytown Evangelical United Brethren Church, with Rev. Charles H. Ream pastor, officiating. The bride was given in marriage by her father. Miss Barbara Wolfe was maid of honor, and William Holmes served as best man. More than 100 people attended the reception. The cake was baked by Mrs. Rowland Plowman, aunt of the bride, and Mrs. Edward Ames assisted in the decorating. Aides were Mrs. Frank Shorts, Mrs. Plowman, and Mrs. Claire Hartman. The couple left for a northern wedding trip to Niagara Falls, after which they will live in Dempseytown.

Oil City Derrick, Monday, Aug 26 1957:
Mrs. Nancy Bickel of 445 Seneca St., Oil City, died in the Franklin Hospital at 12:40 p.m. Sunday. A daughter of Joseph and Marion Plowman Boyd, she was born Jan. 23, 1935, in Franklin.

Before moving to Oil City, she was a resident of Dempseytown. She was educated in Rockland schools, and was a member of the Dempseytown EUB Church.

She married to Donald C. Bickel on Nov. 7, 1952, who survives, with her mother, one daughter, Lois Ann, 3; a sister, Miss Paige Boyd of Dempseytown; a half-sister, Mrs. Mildred Beels of Emlenton; four half-brothers, Gerald Boyd of Ironton, O., Lyle Boyd of Oil City, Jack Boyd of Seneca and Robert Plowman of Dempseytown. Her father died in 1954.

Service will be at Crawford Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Wednesday with Rev. David Gill, pastor of the Dempseytown EUB Church, officiating. Interment will follow in the Dempseytown Lutheran Cemetery.
