| Birth: | Aug. 9, 1887 | | Death: | May 23, 1968 |  World War I Victoria Cross Medal Recipient. He served as a Lance Corporal in the 3rd Pioneer Battalion, Australian Imperial Forces. At Broodseinde Ridge, Belgium, October 4, 1917, Lance Corporal Peeler was directed to go forward to find the German machine firing on his troops. He located the position, killed the gunner and the rest in which were in the crew. He then ran to a dug out close by dislodged ten of the enemy and disposed them. For courage in action, he was promoted Sergeant and awarded the Victoria Cross Medal on August 8, 1918. (bio by: John "J-Cat" Griffith)
