Samuel M. Matthews, 55, former San Bernadino and Colton bank employee died Saturday in Los Angeles.
Mr. Matthews was the stepson of
Hugh L. Dickson a federal bankruptcy referee in Los Angeles and formerly a prominent San Bernadino attorney and one-time district attorney of the county.
He was employed at the San Bernadino National Bank and later was transferred to the First National Bank of Colton. He left the Colton bank to become a state bank examiner, a post he held until his death.
In addition to his stepfather, he is survived by his mother, Mrs. Ola M. Dickson, and three half-sisters, Mrs. Irving Blom and Mrs. Neal Iverson of Honolulu and Dorothy Dixon of Los Angeles.
