Abe "King Kong" Kashey

Actor. Born in Syria, he was a professional wrestler when he made his debut in America in a match for the Georgia Championship in 1932. By the late 1930s, he was a popular figure on the wrestling circuit when he was introduced to movies appearing in "Beyond the Blue Horizon" (1942), followed by "King of the Mounties" (1942). His other film credits include "Nasty Nuisance" (1943) "The Crime Doctor's Courage" (1945), "Tarzan and the Leopard Woman" (1946), "The Thing From Another World" (1951) and "Don't Go Near the Water" (1957). He also formed a brother tag team with his real life son Al Kashey. He died of congestive heart failure at age 61 in Lynwood, California. (bio by: John "J-Cat" Griffith)
