Aidajane (Kitty) C. Barstow, age 88, a resident of Grantsburg went to meet her Lord on September 14, 2011. Aidajane was born on December 22, 1922 in St. Paul to Arthur and Eugenia Jensen.
Aidajane graduated from North St. Paul High School and went to the University of Wisconsin-Superior where she completed two years before the start of World War II. She went to work at Seegers in St. Paul, Minnesota supporting the war effort and that is where she met Charles. They were married on September 1, 1943.
They moved to Grantsburg in 1954 where they farmed for many years. Aidajane also worked at North States in Falun for several years during this time.
After retiring they moved to Hertel for a few years, eventually moving back to the Grantsburg area. Aidajane then worked at Parker Hannifin for a number of years. Once she finally retired full time she took time to do the things she enjoyed. Some of those things were her flower and vegetable gardens, crossword puzzles, reading, feeding the birds and most importantly spending time with her friends and family.
She may be gone but her smile and laughter will always remain in our hearts. She was one of God's most beautiful, caring and loving people and was loved by so many and missed by all who knew her.
Aidajane was preceded in death by his parents; husband Charles; daughter Jean Marie, and infant daughter Carol Jean; and brothers Dean and Ronny.
She is survived by her sons David (Liana) Barstow, Dennis (Andrea) Barstow, Steven (Theresa) Barstow, Rand (Susan) Barstow; daughter Joan Strese (Ed Columbus); many grandchildren and great grandchildren; close family friends Larry Tretsven, Jerry Lunzer and Al Oldeen; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
