DEATH COMES TO MRS. KNAPP SUNDAY NIGHT
Pioneer who Had Resided In Kelso For 40 Years Sucumbs To Paralytic Stroke Last Night.
Mrs. Georgiana Knapp, a resident of Kelso for 40 years, passed away at her home at 401 Academy street in Kelso about 9:40 o'clock last night following a stroke of paralysis which occured on Saturday. Mrs. Knapp was 76 years of age.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Presbyterian church in Kelso. Concluding services and interment will be in the Portland Crematorium.
Mrs. Knapp was born in Canada in 1854. She was married to Peter Knapp at Whitehall, Mich. on November 24, 1870. The couple came to Kelso in 1890 and Mr. Knapp operated several sawmills. He retired 18 years ago and died in 1924. He was a Civil War veteran. Conciderable Kelso real estate is included in the Knapp estate.
A daughter, Mrs. Mary J. Elliott of Portland, is the only immediate survivor. A nephew, Edwin Moll, lives in Portland, and a sister, Mrs. Deborah Hensy, lives in Lakota, N. D.
Active pallbearers at the services will be Dr. A. F. Davis, R. A. Davis, Al Leichhardt, H. C. Dunham, Elden Dunham and Russell Carothers.
Honorary pallbearers will be B. F. Colvin, R. N. West, George Portland, Thomas Mc Dermott, Robert Jolley, C. P. Stayton, John Spangler and Tom Shannon. The latter two are Civil War veterans.
The remains will lie in state at the family home this afternoon and evening and until 1 o'clock tomorrow. The Nat Smith funeral home is in charge of burial.

Georgianna Knapp was buried at Willamette National Cemetery on 13 April 2012 along side her husband, Peter Jones Knapp.
