Barbara Ceresola passed away peacefully at home after a lengthy illness. Barbara was born in California, but was truly a Nevadan having resided in Reno since 1961. Barbara retired from the U.S. Postal Service as a mail carrier in 2001. She enjoyed her job and her customers always left a Sees Candy box for her at Christmas, which she enjoyed immensely. Barbara and her husband (now deceased) Mitch enjoyed NASCAR racing and spending time at their cabin in Horse Canyon Nevada. Barb also loved old cars and Hot August Nights. She loved to tend her backyard gardens and had a very deep love of her country. She also loved every darn dog she ever came into contact with. Barbara is survived by her only child, Kelly Rae (Pamela Haberman), her two dogs Sassy and Hershey, sisters Elizabeth Grist and Belva Cecchi, numerous nieces and nephews and her good friend Paula Sutton. The family wishes to thank Circle of Life Hospice and Meals on Wheels for their comforting services in Babara's last few months. Barbara will be laid to rest next to her husband Mitch at the Veterans Cemetery in Fernley. At her request no service will be held, and in lieu of flowers please donate to the SPCA.
*************************** Barb, I really miss you. I miss watching Judge Judy,Bill O'Riely and your Nascar races with you. I remember how you smiled when I told you I saw a "NO SPIN ZONE" front door mat on O'Riely's website and if you were a good girl Santa might bring you one. I remember your passion for Nascar and all the wonderful memories you shared with me of your travels to the different tracks -we even looked at the Atlas to try and determine the exact city a particular track was located in...that's when we both discovered we loved North Carolina. I miss giving you a hug and telling you "that's what I love about you...You don't hold back!"...So many things you shared with me that I will forever treasure. Things that will always remind me of you: Railey's paper bags, Mums, Roses (thanks for teaching me how to trim a rose bush!),peanut butter sandwiches with a glass of milk, macaroni salad from Railey's,sleeping with all the windows open, mushrooms, Yorki pups -and the love of all dogs, big and small, your patriotism...you were a die hard American..."get it out of my house if it doesn't say Made In America!", your love of politics...I would always agree with you because I knew better than to differ! :) Oh, and lets not forget NASCAR...gosh, I will never think of Nascar without thinking of you. Things I regret: chiding you when you were upset because the race was rained out -I know you wanted to get all the NASCAR you could before your time was up; that I spent more time "doing things" instead of visiting with you toward the end, that you left us before I could get you out in the yard to see your newly planted mums, that I wasn't able to see you in the 3 days before you left us. I will always treasure our friendship and miss you dearly. Have fun at the big race track in the sky and give Peanuts a big hug for me! Love you Barb!
