Hobert was the 8th child of 11 born to David Andrew and Sara Elizabeth (Rose) Adams. His parents were from Illinois. When Hobart was 3 his father moved the family to Oklahoma, in 3 covered wagons. David built his homestead 2 and 1/2 miles south of the present town of Sharon, this is where Hobert grew up. On 21 Sept 1927 Hobert Married Anna Clarice Lively. To this union were born 5 children; Maurice Lee, Maurine Lou, Francis Elizabeth, Merlin Duane, and Edgar Eldon. In 1932-33 he built the family home on South 1st in Woodward. Hobert had worked for the railroad and prior to his death, had worked as the custodian for the Woodward Central School buildings. He enjoyed farming, (raised chickens for hobby and food), fishing and doing carpentry. He also played the piano and organ by ear. Hobert became ill with pneumonia on the Saturday before his passing on Sunday, the 26th of July 1942. His final resting place is in Elmwood Cemetery, Woodward.
