Another Pioneer Woman Gone.

Last Saturday afternoon Mrs. Benjamin F. Whitney, one of Princeton's oldest residents, after a lingering illness, departed this life. The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon from the residence of her son, Mr. Elmer E. Whitney, and was largely attended. Rev. James A. Geer officiated. The remains were laid at rest in Oak Knoll cemetery alongside those of her husband who had preceded her.

Mrs. Whitney, whose maiden name was Miss Elinor Kuder, was born September 2, 1835, in Kuderville, N.Y. She was married to Benjamin F. Whitney in 1856, and came to Princeton with her husband the following year, and she has resided here constantly ever since, hence she was the oldest white settler of Mille Lacs county at the time of her death.

She is survived by one brother, O. S. Kuder of Coldwater, Mich., one son Elmer E. Whitney of this place, seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Her husband, Benjamin F. Whitney (one of the whitest men the Lord ever made) and her eldest son, Harley, died several years ago.

Mrs. Whitney was one of those unostentatious people who quietly attended to her own affairs and made no noise in the world; but she was a kindhearted little woman, possessed of endearing traits of character, and was held in high esteem by all the early day settlers.
