Funeral services for Mr. Erve Henry Childress Sr., who passed away July 13, were held July 15, Sunday, at Northside Baptist Church, with Rev. Ellis Ham, officiating, assisted by Rev. H. D. Knight. Memorial Music was rendered by the church choir. Burial was in Cedar Hill cemetery. (Princeton, Ky.)
Mr. Childress was born December 10, 1891, in Caldwell County, Ky, and was sixty-four years of age. He professed faith in Christ at an early age and was a devoted member to his faith. At the time of his death, he was a member of Northside Baptist Church.

Mr. Childress was the son of the late James Thomas and Landona Boaz Childress. On November 7, 1914 he was married to Miss Zora White, and to this union four children were born, two sons and two daughters, all of whom, with their mother, survive. they are Mrs. Myrtle Grace Byard, Mr. J. T. Childress, Mrs. Edna Blondell Jenkins and Mr. Erve Henry Childress Jr. Also ten devoted grandchildren and one great-grandchild; also surviving Mr. Childress are one brother and seven sisters, namely, Mr. Richard Childress of Providence, Ky; Mesdames Ida Mitchell of Princeton; Grace Taylor of Providence; Evie Erwin of Providence; Maggie Traylor of Providence; Edna Guess of Fredonia; Julia Holmes of Princeton and Verble Whittington of Kuttawa; two brothers and one sister preceded him in death.

Floral girls were nieces; Myrtle Lou Martin, Betty Sue Boren, Iretta Francis, Melinda Whittington, Mary Ruby Mize, Eva Mitchell. Casket bearers were nephews, Robert Holmes, Willie Martin, J. R. Stallins, Howard Childress, Gorman Mitchell, Garland Rice Traylor. Honorary bearers were Logan Alexander, Brantly Gray, Frank Sisk, Joe Beshears, Aubrey Hughes, Harry Quinn, J. O. Beshears, Kirby Thomas.

Friends here join in extended sympathy to the grief stricken family and relatives. He was a fine Christian man and will be missed by his many friends. Many and beautiful were the floral tokens of love by his many friends. Burial was in charge of Morgan undertakers.
