OPELIKA, AL -- Mr. Thomas Leonard “Tony” Meadors III, 53, of Opelika died Thursday, July 10, 2003 at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, July 12, 2003 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Revs. Jimmy Brown and Steve Powell officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Meadors is survived by his wife, Patricia Kent Meadors of Opelika; two sons, Kevin (Natasha) Meadors of LaGrange, GA and Keith (Ruth) Meadors of Sterrett, AL; his sister, Debra Pless of Dadeville, AL; his brother, Jeff Meadors of Opelika; two grandchildren, Matthew Meadors and Jonathan Meadors, both of LaGrange; and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Born October 6, 1949 in Chambers County, AL, Mr. Meadors had been employed at Briggs & Straton in Opelika for eight years before his health failed. He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Chambers County.
The family will receive friends Friday, July 11, 2003 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Jeff Jones Funeral Home in LaFayette, AL.
