Joined the Marines during WWII. After the war he became a well known hair styist in San Diego and California, recogized as an expert hair designer, cutter, colorist, award winning designer of coffures.. Owned 6 beauty salons and a beauty school in San Diego known as Charles Hairstyists.
Did time in the ring as a boxer; Champion boat racer of Class C roundabouts; enjoyed duck hunting and craving them in wood; skeet shooting and shooting competitions; owned planes one formly owned by Wallace Barry; loved to party; had a infectious laugh; loved to sing in & out of the shower; loved his hunting dogs and driving fast. He was an artist and loved to draw but not often enough.Was interested in many different things.
He first married his school sweetheart, Barbara & had a daughter, Trudy. In 1946 he married Glenna Schneider,step-daughter Karen; married 3rd Virginia, 1950 Mrs Michigan, and step-son Greg; married 4th_____ and had his one and only son, now of Missouri; married 5th Carol of San Diego.
