Brady Standard-Herald 9/10/2002 Walter Curren, 94 Walter Curren, 94, of Camp Air, died Saturday, Aug. 31 at his home. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Sept. 14 at 10 a.m. at the Bethel Cemetery at Camp Air with Pastor Coe Farmer officiating. Funeral services are under the direction of the Mason Funeral Home. He was born April 6, 1908, on the family ranch at Camp Air to Dan and Lara (Bishop) Curren. He was engaged in farming and ranching and was a life-long resident of Mason County. As a child he was baptized in Dry Prong Creek. Although his life covered almost 100 years, he died just a few yards from where he was born. He is survived by many cousins including Clinton Bishop and wife, Sharron, Sindy Thomas, Denvil Bishop, Johnnie and Medra Bishop, Mike and David Bishop and families, Maureen Ory, Ann Bishop, Martha Dean and Shirley and Greg Colins and family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent to the West Texas Boys Ranch or the Bethel Cemetery Association.
