She was born July 27, 1914 in Rigby to James Christian Anderson and Martha Maude Perry Anderson. She was raised and attended schools in Clark and Rigby, graduating from Rigby High School. On Jan 23, 1932 she married Lawrence William Brown in Farmington, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple April 13, 1950. She and Lawrence farmed in the Ririe and Clark areas.
Ada was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; she served in the Primary and Young Women's organization, Sunday School and Relief Society. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, art and painting and was the Secretary of the Upper Valley Art Guild. She was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers, was a volunteer art instructor at Ririe Elementary School and was active with the Ririe Senior Citizens and did volunteer work at the center.
She is survived by her daughters, Lois (Leo) Parker, of Centerville, Utah, Nancy (Roy) McCracken, of Murray, Utah, Bonnie (Doyle) Cromwell, of Ririe, sons, L. Jay (Meredith) Brown, of Idaho Falls, Donal (Penny) Brown, of Ririe, 24 grandchildren, 59 great-grandchildren, and 31 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence William Brown, sisters, Lucille Ormond, Ila Barbara Fisher, brothers, Ray Anderson, Perry Anderson, Jay Anderson, daughter-in-law, Colleen Murdock Brown, grandson, Michael Jay Brown, and granddaughter, Jennifer Price.
The family extends their gratitude to Idaho Home Health and Hospice and to the staff at Bonaventure Assisted Living Center for the loving care given to Ada.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, March 22, 2013 at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 W. Main Street, Rigby. The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Ririe Shelton Cemetery, under the care of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
