US Representative. He would engage in farming, real estate and the insurance business in Caruthersville in Pemiscot County, Missouri before serving in Congress and would return to those same pursuits in Campbell, Dunklin County, Missouri after his term in Congress. He also served as postmaster of Caruthersville from 1902-1909. He was elected as a Republican from Missouri, 14th District, to the Sixty-first Congress (March 4, 1909-March 3, 1911).
