Lester Whitney, 81, Pine Plains, died Thursday in Rhinebeck. A resident of the area for 14 years, he previously lived in Gallatin & New York City. He was born in Brooklyn on March 8, 1897, son of Samuel & Rose Fegyveresi Whitney. Before his retirement, he had been manager of Green Hill Farm, a wild game breeding farm in Pine Plains. He was a US Army veteran of WWI. Survived by his wife, the former Marie Schumacher; and a brother Edward Whitney of Wainscott, LI.
