Mr. Hyder King McGlothlin, age 67, of Honaker, Virginia, passed away Thursday (April 14, 2011) at his home. Born March 5, 1944
in Venia, Virginia, he was a son of the late Elder Andrew and Pearl Honaker McGlothlin. A lifelong resident of the area, he was of
the Primitive Baptist faith. A disabled coal miner, he had formerly been employed by Island Creek Coal Company at the VP #6 mine
and was a member of the UMWA.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Joyce Ann McGlothlin and Vinnie Pearl McGlothlin, one brotherin-
law, in/in Ball, Jr. and two sisters-in-law, Martha McGlothlin and Lula McGlothlin.
Survivors include his wife of forty-five years, Sue Helton McGlothlin of the home; one daughter, Teresa McGlothlin Austin and
husband, Anthony of Lebanon; one son, Edgar McGlothlin and wife, Jennifer of Bedford; four grandchildren, Jeffrey McGlothlin,
Jessica McGlothlin, Travis McGlothlin, and Kaitlyn Austin; two sisters, Martha Ball of Honaker and Dollie Compton and husband,
Eugene of Lebanon; seven brothers, Wayne McGlothlin, Dallas McGlothlin and wife, Lizzie, Carlis McGlothlin, and Memphis
McGlothlin and wife, Judy all of Honaker, Rean McGlothlin and wife, Faye and Hadley McGlothlin and wife, Beulah all of Fletchers'
Ridge, and Fred McGlothlin and wife, Betty of Davenport; sister-in-law, Jerlene McGlothlin of Stinson Ridge; several nieces,
nephews, and a host of friends and neighbors also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Tuesday in Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with Elder Jim Duty,
Elder Roger Rose, and Elder Don Stacy officiating. Interment will follow in the McGlothlin Cemetery on Stinson Ridge, Virginia.
Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
Friends may call at the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel after 6:00 PM Monday, where an evening service will be conducted at 7:00
PM.
