HASTINGS - Leta Irene (Landon) Mesecar, age 83 of Hastings passed away Monday, January 26, 2009 at Thornapple Manor.
She was born August 15, 1925 in Carlton Township the daughter of Cleon and Nina (Place) Landon.
She married Leon Bert Mesecar on December 29, 1944 in Havana, Illinois and he survives.
Leta worked at Hastings Manufacturing from 1958 until her retirement in 1988. Besides her loving husband of 64 years, Leta is also survived by her children, Dean (Misty) Mesecar, Gregg (April) Mesecar, Gale Mesecar all of Hastings, Debra (Mark) Hampel of Lake Odessa, and Dawn Overbeck of Woodland; 11 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and brothers, Wilbur Landon and Wayne (Ruth) Landon.
Leta was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Amber Jackson and Leona Yarger; and brothers, Richard, James and Russell Landon.
Leta's family celebrated her life on Thursday, January 29, 2009 at Lauer Family Funeral Home-Wren Chapel, 1401 N. Broadway, Hastings, with Reverend Kenneth Vaught officiating. Burial will take place at Fuller Cemetery
