HITCH, Kathleen Wallace, age 92 of Maryville, passed away Sunday, November 24, 2002, at
Colonial Hills Nursing Home. She was a charter member of Fairview United Methodist Church
where she had been a faithful member for over 90 years.

She and her husband, R. H. "Pete" Hitch were also representatives from Fairview as part of a
church plant that established Green Meadow United Methodist Church. She had been an
educator in Blount County teaching at Porter High School and serving as teaching principal at
Niles Ferry which is now Fairview Elementary. She and her husband built and developed the
family farm into Wallace Hills Golf Course which is now Royal Oaks.

Mrs. Hitch was preceded in death by her husband, R. H. "Pete" Hitch; parents, John and Lucy
Miller Wallace; sister, Muriel Huddleston McCulloch.

Survivors include: son and daughter-in-law, Bob and LaVerne Hitch; daughters and sons-in-law,
Betty Nell and Charles Headrick, Eleanor Jean and Ben Greene; grandchildren, B. D. Hitch, Stan
Hitch, Hal Headrick, Jan Herzbrun, Larry Headrick, Mark Talley, David Talley and John Talley;
17 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild.

The interment will be at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday at Grandview Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Fairview United Methodist
Church followed by a memorial service at 7:30 p.m. with Dr. Jerry Russell officiating.
