THE DEATH OF JOSEPH W ASHBY
Dayton, January 28, Joseph William Ashby, 76, died at his home at Concord this afternoon at 4;40 o'clock, following an illness of one year. Born near Concord on August 4, 1857, he was the son of John and Sarah (Foresman) Ashby, and married Miss Sarah Resler. Following her death in 1910 [sic] he married Mrs. Mary Erlenbach on January 15, 1914. For the last thirty five years he has conducted a store at Concord and was a member of the Concord U B Church. Surviving are the widow; one daughter, Mrs Fred Lafferty, of Tippecanoe county; four sons, William, Roy, and Warren, all of Tippecanoe county, and Chester, of San Francisco, California; one brother, Oliver Ashby, of Iowa: a half-sister, Mrs Harry Blackburn, of Lafayette; and twelve grandchildren. The body was removed here to the Baker funeral home and will be returned to the family residence Tuesday where friends may call after noon. Funeral services will be conducted from the Conroe U B Church Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, with burial in Connaroe cemetery.
