John Aldis Dies Following Short Illness at Home
John W. Aldis, 53, a lifelong resident of Cortland, died in the home of his mother, Mrs. Catherine Aldis, shortly after 6 o'clock Friday evening, death being due to pneumonia, wich was an aftermath of the flu, with complications of asthma, Mr. Aldis was born in Cortland, Dec. 4, 1884. He was well known in Sycamore, which was his trading point. By vocation, he as a truck owner. Besides his mother, he is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Charles Welch and Mrs. Dora Burbank of Cortland, and Mrs. Roy Holland of Sycamore. Private funeral services will be held from the home in Cortland at 1:30 o'clock this Wednesday afternoon, and from the Cortland M.E. church at 2 o'clock, with burial in Cortland cemetery.
