MOUNT PLEASANT – Leonard Henry Collie, 68, of Mount Pleasant died Saturday, Sept. 13, 2008, in Mount Pleasant.
Born Dec. 10, 1939, near Guion, he was the son of Henry Jackson Collie and Modess Langston Collie. He graduated from Mount Pleasant High School. He delivered gas for Synergy Gas Company, was a driver for Coca-Cola Bottling Company, logged timber in Arizona and helped build the Guion bridge. He was a member of Wilson Creek Sportsman Club.
Survivors include two daughters, Tawnie Collie of Mount Pleasant and Erica Nicole Parker of San Angelo, Texas; two brothers, Burton Collie of Mountain Home and Kenneth Wayne Collie of Newport; two sisters, Judy Qualls of Evening Shade and Jenice Haley of Melbourne; and four grandchildren, Trina Ward, Craig Edward Ward, Sativa Wisdom and Jeriemiah Parker.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Kennard Collie; and a sister, Ida Jo Rhodenbaugh.
A private burial will be held at a later date.
Honorary pallbearers are Bob Brooks, Joe Baker, Jimmy Fulbright, Howard Lamb, Kerry Caraway, Andy Winkle, Skip Gasprich, Gwen Craig, Bob Johnson, George Johnson and the members of Wilson Creek Sportsman Club.
