Melvin Edward Faulkner, age 85, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully March 17, 1997 at home following a long fight with Alzheimer's disease.

Born August 23, 1911 in Salt Lake City, the son of John R. Faulkner and Nellie Denney, he was the fourth son to bless the home and had three sisters. He married his sweet companion and help-mate October 31, 1939 and their marriage was later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. His kind and gentle spirit was enjoyed by many. He worked for the D&RG Railroad and retired following 38 years of service.

Survived by his faithful wife of 57 years, Vera Perkins; only daughter, and son-in-law, Gwen and Doyle Seeley; grandchildren, Tim (Syndee) Seeley and Suzanne Ensign. He was the proud great-grandpa of Casey Carter, Kaitlin and Taylor Seeley.

A special thanks to the special aids and nurses of In-Home Health Care for their loving care for Melvin this past year and to his ever faithful and devoted wife.

Services will be held Thursday, 11 a.m., at Redwood Memorial Estates, 6500 So. Redwood Rd., with viewing from 10 to 11 a.m. Interment: Redwood Memorial Estates.
