Henry Lewis Moenk, 80, passed away Feb 24, 1977 at Maquoketa.
Services were held Sat, Feb 26 at 1:30 pm in Zion American Lutheran Church. Burial was in Wyoming Cemetery, with American Legion graveside services. Rev. James Mattson officiated.
Mr. Moenk was born at Langworthy, on Aug 17, 1896, the son of Henry and Margaret Siebels Moenk. On Jan 28, 1920 he married Matilda Prull at Monticello. She died in 1959.
Henry lived all of his life in Jones County, where he farmed, except for a year he spent in California. While there he married Jennie Lambert at Santa Cruz on Dec. 28, 1963.
Surviving him are his wife, Jennie, 2 sons, Richard of Marion and Lewis of Wyoming; 1 daughter, Mrs. Gene (Lorraine) Denniston of Onslow; 11 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; 3 brothers, John and August of Monticello and George of Hanford, Calif.; 5 sisters, Mrs. Seanna Rickels, Mrs. Augusta Siebels and Mrs. Wilhelmina Soper, all of Monticello, Mrs. Anna Brockhohn of Anamosa, and Mrs. Edith Blohm of Martelle.
Preceding him in death were his parents, wife, 2 brothers, 2 sisters and 1 granddaughter.
