Henry Boyd Jr., 48, of Memphis, Tenn., formerly of Holly Springs, died Sept. 18, 2011, at Veterans Medical Center in Memphis. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a shipping clerk with UPS.
Services were held at 2:30 p.m. on Sept. 24 at Anderson Chapel CME Church, where he was a member. Burial was in the Adolphus Chapel CME Church cemetery. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
He leaves his wife, Doris Jones Boyd of Anniston, Ala.; seven children, Shaquita Gravett of Villa Rica, Ga., Jamal Boyd of Anniston, Monique Sherray Harrison of Germany, Alicia Boyd, Elisa Boyd, Marcus Boyd, all of Anniston; six sisters, Edna Boyd, Linda K. Boyd (Johnny), Parthinia Walker, Laney Jones (Robert), Cheryl Jones (Pat), Valena Howell (Larry), all of Holly Springs, Mamie Pritchard (Johnny) of Victoria; a brother, James Earl Jones of Olive Branch; and five grandchildren.
