Funeral services for John Duke, 87, of Longleaf, were held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Longleaf Baptist Church with Dr. Houston Smith, the pastor of Pineville Baptist Church officiating. Interment will be in Butters Cemetery under the direction of Hargrove Funeral Home, Oakdale.
Surviving him are his wife Mrs. Ruth (Mary Ruth Lawson)Duke of Longleaf; three sons, M.C. Duke of Alexandria, Gerald Duke and J.A. Duke, Jr., both of Longleaf; three daughters, Mrs. Uyles Simmons of Port Arthur, TX; Johnny Ruth Duke and Margie Duke, both of Longleaf; six brothers, five sisters and three grandchildren.
