She married Robert M. Nordeen, Sr., on February 4, 1952, in Henrietta TX. They traveled and lived in many parts of the world with his military career. In 1954, they lived in Germany and then in 1956 moved to Alabama where CSM Nordeen later retired on June 20, 1966.
They then returned to Lawton, and Jean worked as an operator at Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. She also worked for 37 years at Lawton Novelty Shop. She was a long-time member of Trinity Baptist Church. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her sense of humor and love of fun will help keep her memories alive with her family for many years as they remember her life.
She is survived by her three sons and daughters-in-law, Robert M., Jr., and Gayle Nordeen of Lawton, Glen and Angelique Nordeen of Cache OK, and Kenneth and Melanie Nordeen of Lawton; grandchildren Holly R. Nordeen, Amanda I. Sanger, Keegan and Lindsey Verner, Kelly Nordeen, Kaci D. and George Parker, Brittany Denae Nordeen, Monique M. Nordeen, William G. Nordeen, Joshua A. Nordeen, Amber N. Nordeen, Ashley N. Nordeen, Jacob A. Nordeen, and Alexis N. Nordeen; six great grandchildren; two brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law, Les Autry of Altus, and Max and Bonnie Nordeen of St. Edward NE; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers J.E. Marple, Bud Marple, and Dean Marple; sisters Balma Tobola and Leta Autry; and two great-grandchildren
Funeral service is at 12:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 21st, 2011, at First Baptist Church East, Lawton. Interment will be at Fort Sill National Cemetery, Elgin OK.
