Famous fiction mystery and science fiction writer. MacDonald was famous for writing the Travis McGee Mystery series. Some of his other science fiction books include Wine of Dreamers (1951), The Girl, The Gold Watch, and Everything (1962), and Other Times, Other Worlds (1978). MacDonald published 78 books and close to 500 short stories during his lifetime. There are over 75 million copies of his books in print. Some of the penn names that MacDonald has written under are John Dann, John Wade Farrell, and Peter Reed.
