John, the 10 months old son of Mr. & Mrs. Florens Groeneveld, who reside on Summit avenue east, died at an early hour Monday morning[, Jan. 19, 1914]. The child had recently recovered from whooping cough & later had an attack of pneumonia but the direct cause of death is given as convulsions which followed an illness of but one day. The remains were buried in Norway cemetery, Tuesday afternoon[, Jan. 20]. The boy was one of 5 children who came over with their mother who were rescued from the ill-fated ship, Volturno.—The Norway Current (Norway, Dickinson County, Michigan), 1914
