Rachel was the daughter of Charles and Mary Salyer of Amwell, Hunterdon County, New Jersey. Rachel's grave has not been found, but it could also be in Harbourton Cemetry. There is evidence that she was living in Hopewell, Mercer County at the time of her death.
Thomas was a soldier in the Revolutionary War, serving under Colonel Martin and Colonel Sealy in the New Jersey Regiment. He fought in the Battle of Monmouth and other battles.
