Age 57. Daughter of James Graham.

From Jim Kenney (#46923207)

April 4, 1922.
"A fire which has destroyed their home in Woodlands this morning about seven o'clock, burned to death Mrs. George McBride, aged about 57 and her two grandchildren, a boy known as "Bud", aged 13 and James Oliver, aged 12. Mrs. Della Doyle, mother of the two children, had lighted the fire in the coal stove and had gone about three hundred yards distant behind some buildings to milk. When she returned the house was in flames. Neighbors fought the fire but the McBride house could not be saved, work was directed at saving two adjoining houses, the Baker and Grim homes. Coroner J.T. McCombs and Undertaker E.F. Grisell went to Woodlands late this morning and returned this afternoon. Mr. McBride died about three months ago. The two women and two children were living there alone. The house, owned by Oscar Venus, of this city, was a five room, one and a half story structure with a tin roof. There was no insurance on the building, although Mr. Venus had at the time, negotiations underway for insuring the property. Just how the fire started from the coal stove is unknown."
