Lester O. Allmon, age 80, of Maryville, went home to be with his Lord Monday, September 19, 2011 at his Home. He attended Twin Oaks Baptist Church and had done Evangelistic Ministry for the past 50 years. He pastored Alleghany Baptist Church, Birchfield Baptist Church, and filled in at Four Mile Baptist Church, while they were seeking a new pastor. He loved to travel with his family to preach, play his guitar and sing. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Korea Conflict, a member of Mt. View Masonic Lodge # 519. He worked at several car dealerships as a mechanic and retired from Blount Farmers Co-Op.

Preceded in death by his mother, Gussie Lee Chastain Allmon; father, Roy Allmon; brother, R.J. Allmon; sister, Louise Daugherty; brother in law, James Daughter; grand daughter, April Nicole Allmon; mother in law and father in law, Mandy and Anderson Tilley.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Mable Jean Tilley Allmon; children, Mike and wife, Beverly Anderson Allmon, Debra and husband, Doyle Gray; grandchildren, Brian and Keri Brewer Gray, Brandon Gray, Kasey and Grant Bland; brother in law and sister in law, Arnold and Eva Tilley; sister in law, Lena Allmon and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held 8:00 p.m. Thursday, September 22, 2011 at Miller Funeral Home Magnolia Chapel, Rev. Tyson Matoy and Rev. Mike McClure officiating. Graveside services and interment 11:00 a.m. Friday at Centenary Baptist Church Cemetery, Rev. Elmer Webb officiating. The family received friends 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Miller Funeral Home.
