Irvin J Bemiller, 59, a prominent farmer and stock raiser in the vicinity of Wakarusa, died Friday afternoon at his home, five miles north and one mile east of Wakarusa. Death was due to apoplexy, although he had been ill for five weeks.
He was born Feb 8, 1871, across the road from his late home, which was then the old Bemiller homestead. Mr Bemiller, who had spent all his life in that vicinity, was the son of the last Philip Bemiller and Margaret Bemiller, who survives him.
He was married to Rose McNay, who later died, after which he married Edith Bishop, formerly of Elkhart. Following her death in 1927, he married Myrtle Poyser of Elkhart last August.
In addition to his mother and his wife, the survivors include a son, Morris Bemiller, who lives at home; three grandchildren; a sister, Mrs Mervin Eby of Wakarusa, and two brothers, Perry Bemiller of Elkhart, and Albert Bemiller of Wakarusa.
The funeral was held at the home at 1:30 pm Sunday conducted by the Rev David Yoder. Burial was made in the Olive cemetery, one mile west of his late home.
