| Birth: | Nov. 24, 1968 Flint Genesee County Michigan, USA | | Death: | Sep. 11, 2001 Shanksville Somerset County Pennsylvania, USA | September 11th United Flight 93 Passenger. A high school athlete in baseball, basketball and soccer, he attended Fresno State University and Wheaton College. He earned a master's degree in business administration from DePaul University. In 1994 he moved to Princeton, New Jersey and began his career as an account manager with the Oracle Corporation. He and his wife Lisa, married in 1994, were active in their church and taught Sunday school class. In 2000 they moved to Cranbury, New Jersey. On September 11, 2001, Beamer was on his way to a business meeting in California when the flight was hijacked by terrorists, presumably intent on crashing into a target in Washington, D.C. Using an on-board phone he called telephone operator Lisa Jefferson who informed him of the other hijackings. During their approximately thirteen minute conversation, Beamer told the operator that he and some of the other passengers were going to try to overtake the terrorists. He asked her to pray with him and they recited the 23rd Psalm. After making the operator promise to call his pregnant wife and their two sons, David and Andrew, Beamer dropped the phone, leaving the line open. The last words the operator heard were, "Let's roll." His remains were buried in the Brainerd Cemetery, Cranbury, Middlesex County, New Jersey. His name can also be found on the Flight 93 National Memorial in Shanksville, Somerset County, Pennsylvania. (bio by: Melanie)
