Eagle Creek residents Pamela "Pam" Lynn Benson, 42, and her daughter, Clarice Marie Benson, 11, died Saturday, April 25, in an auto accident on Highway 26.
Private interment was at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Pam was born Aug. 25, 1966, in Palatine, Ill., to William and Carolyn Hartman.
She graduated from Palatine High School and did her undergraduate studies at Northwestern University. She received her master's degree from the University of Wisconsin in 1992.
On Sept. 2, 1989, she married Jon Benson in Palatine. They had two children, including Clarice, who was born June 19, 1997.
Pam worked as a speech pathologist for Multnomah County Education Service District for the past 15 years.
Pam enjoyed gardening and hiking, and she was an avid reader. She ran the tie-dye booth at the Sandy Farmers Market. Her strongest trait was her listening skills.
Pam is survived by her husband; son, Nathan Benson of Eagle Creek; mother, Carolyn Hartman of Evanston, Ill.; father, William Hartman of Tucson, Ariz.; brother, Bill Hartman of Chicago; and sister, Paula Hartman of Chicago.
