Mrs. Sarah Frances Painter, widow of the late William Painter, died at the age of 81 years at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Zora Martin, 312 W. Brook Street, Saturday, Aug. 6. Funeral services were held at Bigham's chapel at 2:30 o'clock Monday afternoon, the Rev. G. T. Kelly having the ceremony in charge, and burial made in the I.O.O.F. cemetery (burial was in Gibson Cemetery).

Sarah Frances Harbet was born Oct. 10, 1857, in Golden, Missouri. She professed faith in Christ at an early age and united with the Christian Church at Golden. She was married to William Painter Oct 2, 1872, and five sons and four daughters were born of this union. Surviving are six sons and daughters as follows: Joe and James Painter of Henryetta, Okla., John Painter of Shreveport, La., Mrs. Mollie Nelson and Mrs. Edith Hunter of Amarillo, Tex., and Mrs. Martin with whom she made her home. Besides these she is survived by one sister, Mrs. A.B. Scott of Chelsea, Okla., 36 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Sarah died at her home at W. Brook St. at 6:45 p.m. from General Senility with Nephritis and Endocarditis Contributed to a Hip Fracture that she received on June 28, 1938 at home.
