Pearl M. Elston, 97
Pearl M. Elston, 97, of Delphi, died at 5:02 p.m. Wednesday, May 15, 2002, at Waterford Place Health Campus, Kokomo. She had been a resident there for two weeks.
She was born at East Longmeadow, Mass., on March 19, 1905. She married W. Thomas Elston in Muncie on July 20, 1929. He died on March 20, 1978.
She attended school in Owen County.
She worked for the Indiana Veterans' Home in West Lafayette for a short time, and also at the former Welcome Inn Restaurant in Delphi for several years.
She was a member of Delphi United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Crusaders Sunday school class.
She enjoyed sewing, crossword puzzles, gardening and traveling.
Survivors include a son, John (Julie) Elston of Hot Springs Village, Ark.; a daughter, Helen (Floyd) Spence of Sharpsville; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
A sister and a brother are deceased.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Saturday at Abbott Funeral Home, Delphi. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, with the Rev. Donald Ruhl officiating.
Burial will be at Masonic Cemetery, Delphi.
Memorials may be made to Delphi United Methodist Church.
