Evelyn Cook Ewing, 69, of Memphis, Missouri, passed away July 18, 1996, in St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri.

Born July 20, 1926, in Scotland County, Missouri, she was a daughter of Leo Adron and Bessie Jewell Ketchum Cook.

On October 20, 1945, she was united in marriage to Dale Lancaster, who preceded her in death on May 16, 1970. To this union one son, Dale Lynn Lancaster, was born. Dale Lynn and his wife, Connie, of Gladstone, Missouri survive.

Also surviving are one sister, Joy Nicoli and husband, Bruce, and one brother, Bill Cook and wife, Mary, of Memphis, Missouri; two step-sons, Rex Ewing and wife, Vickie of Oologah, Oklahoma and Scott Ewing and wife, Goldie of Phoenix, Arizona; four grandchildren, Chase Lancaster, Peggy Lancaster, Ashley Lancaster, and Alissa Lancaster; two step grandchildren, Andy Ewing and Jessica Ewing; and several other relatives including sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and sister-in-law and friend Betty Wheeler of Memphis, Missouri.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Bob Cook and Leo Dale Cook.

Evelyn was a life long resident of the Memphis community where she received her education. She was a 1945 graduate of Memphis High School.

For a number of years she was employed as a cook by the Scotland County R-1 Schools at Memphis, Missouri.

Evelyn was a member of the Memphis Baptist Church. She was also an avid collector of antiques which she enjoyed, along with her family.

Funeral services were held July 22, 1996, in the Memphis Christian Church in Memphis, Missouri. Reverend Ernest Deatrick assisted by Brother Mike Wilson officiated at the services. Music was provided by Schelle Cooley, soloist, and Connie Courtney, was organist. Burial was in the Memphis Cemetery at Memphis, Missouri. Casket bearers were John Wheeler, George Mathes, Phil Struble, Lynn Triplett, Harry Haldeman and Harvey Haldeman. Hudson-Rimer Funeral Chapel of Edina, Missouri was in charge of arrangements.
