Widow of Late Prof. Browder and Widely Known Throughout the State.
Mrs. Mildred E. Browder, a well-known woman, died yesterday morning at 5 o'clock at her home, 405 East Gray Street, of a complication of diseases. Mrs. Browder was the widow of the late Prof. Samuel P. Browder, who for several years was a teacher in the public schools of this city and who later went to Frankfort. He was a teacher until his death, eleven years ago.
Mrs. Browder was born in Jeffersontown, sixty-eight years ago. She was a beauty of more than local fame in her girlhood. Her maiden name was Miss. Mildred Johnson and she belonged to one of the best-known families in the county. Four children survive: George Browder, a merchant of Indianapolis; Mrs. William Lassell, of Frankfort; Mrs. Homer M. Stucky and Miss Mary Browder of this city.
Mrs. Browder was a member of the Broadway Christian Church and was a zealous worker.
The body will be taken to Frankfort this morning, where the funeral service will be held at the family burying ground at 11 o'clock.
