THEODORE A. BELL'S AGED MOTHER DEAD
She Came Across the Plains in Early 50's
[Special Dispatch to The Call]
ST. HELENA, Jan. I.—Mrs. Catherine T. Bell, mother of Theodore A. Bell, died yesterday in her home near this city. Born in South Norwalk. Conn., 72 years ago, Mrs. Bell came across the plains in the early fifties in an ox team. She is survived by a husband, C.E. Bell, to whom she was married 55 years ago, and seven chidren[sic].
-----
Also two other sons Thomas A. Bell, and Henry C. both born in Vallejo, CA; and a daughter, Evelyn Bell born in Bell's Valley.
(Note: She was buried January 2, 1912, so she had to have died in December 1911. Since the headstone doesn't appear to be over 100 years old, it's more likely that someone was misinformed when the headstone was engraved.)
