Richard A. Rohleder, 91, Victoria, died Monday, June 2, 2008, at his home. He was born Dec. 14, 1916, in Victoria to Peter and Pauline (Dreiling) Rohleder.

He was a retired mechanic working, most of his career in Denver at Barnies Garage. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II. He was inducted at Fort Lewis, Wash., and attended basic training in Battle Creek, Mich. During his war service, he was an escort guard of German prisoners and stationed in the Philippines during his service time. He was a member of St. Fidelis Catholic Church, Victoria.

Survivors include two brothers, Gilbert, Victoria, and Albert, Wichita; a sister, Clara Rohleder; Victoria; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers and two sisters.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Fidelis Catholic Church, Victoria; burial in St. Fidelis Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Brock's North Hill Chapel, 2509 Vine, Hays, and from 9 a.m. until time of service Thursday at the church. A wake will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to Masses or capuchin Province of Mid-America in care of the chapel.
