As a small boy he moved with his parents to Indian Territory. The family settled on a farm in Craig County, in the Vinita area, where he received his education.

He and the former Miss Jennie Elsie Thompson were married on Nov. 20, 1913 at Vinita and they established their first home on a farm near Bluejacket on the old Ozark Trail. They moved to Bartlesville in 1948, then later to Dewey.

Prior to his retirement in 1951, he was employed by the Mizer Feed Strore and later the Durrill Feed Company.

He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Vinita.
