Mrs. Ardena Aiken Passes In Alabama
Mrs. Ardena Westbrook Aiken, former resident of Greensboro died yesterday in Mobile, Ala., at the age of 84. She had made her home in Mobile with a daughter, Mrs. Donald L. Swift.
Surviving in addition to Mrs. Swift, is another daughter, Mrs. Grady L. Bain of Mobile, formerly of Greensboro, a son, Emmett R. Aiken of Los Angeles, Calif; a sisters, Mrs. Ralph J. Sykes of Greensboro, three brothers, Joe W. Westbrook of Greensboro, George A. Westbrook of Charlotte and Charles H. Westbrook of Newport News, Va.; and two grandchildren.
The body will arrive in Greensboro at 6:30 p.m. tomorrow. Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in Forbis & Murray Chapel with Dr. Eugene C. Few, pastor of West Mark Street Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery. Body will remain at the funeral home.
Note: Mrs. Donald Lloyd Swift was Alice Guthrie Aiken. She and Donald married in Greensboro on 5 Jan 193 @ St. Andrews Episcopal Church. Both of them, although not linked, are buried at Pine Crest Cemetery in Mobile, AL.
